Dr. Mohamad Khamis , M.D. is the President and CEO of American Northwest University with locations in Bosnia, Chicago and Central America, Belize. Dr. Khamis serves as the president and founder to the following entities:

      • Arab American Physician Association

     • Arab American Community Center, a non-profit organization designed to assist community members who are in need of medical services and affordable housing accommodations.

     • Northwest Clinicals, assist medical students and foreign graduates based out of Chicago and Istanbul prepare to obtain their clinical rotations and U.S. medical license.

     • Northwest Recovery Center based out of Chicago, the center serves as an addiction treatment center which provides the necessary support for individuals to reinstate back into a healthy and balanced lifestyle.

Dr. Mohammad Khamis is the Dean of Medical Faculty at American Northwest University for foreign graduates who do their rotation in the U.S. He has gained international recognition as an expert on the importance of a healthy life style, weight changes and maintaining cardiovascular risk reduction in patients with Diabetes Mellitus type 2. His research has focused on Diabetes, Congestive heart failure (CHF) and Hypertension, including the factors that influence the incidence and prevalence of cardiac diseases. Dr. khamis has published extensively on Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension and cardiovascular diseases. He has received numerous honors and awards for his work, contributions, and accomplishments. His medical centers were awarded the best Medical Centers in Chicago for the year 2017.

Dr. Khamis graduated from Rush University and Franklin University School of Medicine and he is fluent in five languages (English, Serbian, Spanish, Bosnian, Arabic, intermediate in Russian and beginner in Turkish). Dr. Khamis enjoys having to design and prepare medical curriculums and accrediting medical universities.
